The
mission of the GARP Digital Library
(GDL) is to advance the risk profession
through education and promotion
of best practices globally by
providing convenient access to
highly recommended educational
material and information on financial
risk management. To meet its objective,
the GDL:
-
Relies upon an impressive Editorial Committee of well-respected
risk management academicians
and practitioners to insure
that the library collection
is comprised of the highest-quality
readings,
-
Is working closely with the
publishing community to insure
the library collection has readings
to meet the needs and preferences
of all potential users, from
the uninitiated reader who is
curious about risk management
to the most sophisticated, highly
quantitative risk management
researcher, and
-
Is accessible through a robust
and easy-to-use website which
all users can find the readings
they desire.
Readings
offered through the GDL will include
individual chapters of textbooks,
journal articles and research reports.

- The reading
must be well-written with timely
and relevant content
- The reading
must provide highly effective
educational or valuable informational
content to a particular audience
of readers interested in risk
management, from the non-technical
beginner to the highly quantitative,
experienced researcher
- The reading
must provide consistent presentation
of technical material
- The
reading must focused on at least
one of the following categories:
- The
quantification and/or management
of risk
- Concepts
and tools considered requisite
knowledge for risk management
- New
and existing problem domains
for risk management
- New
approaches to risk management
problems
-
Historical analyses and overviews
of important risk management
successes and failures

GDL is working closely with a wide
variety of publishing companies
to insure that the library considers
readings to meet the wide array
of possible interests of potential
users.
Easy
Use. The GDL website includes
several features that allow users
to easily and fully utilize the
material available through the website.
Users can view new releases, most
popular readings, and all readings
within general subject areas (credit
risk, market risk, operational risk,
investment management and quantitative
analysis). In addition, the GDL
website includes a powerful search
engine that uses Google’s
search technology. Users can search
through the entire library content.
Users can purchase individual readings
or clustered readings, thereby allowing
users to develop their own e-books.

of the risk management profession
through education, training and
the promotion of best practices
globally and believes that the GARP
Digital Library will become an invaluable
resource for the risk management
